The Sub-Balkan Region [the Rose Valley]
The Sub-Balkan Region [the Rose Valley]. White wines [3/4 of production]. Has about 7% of the Bulgarian vineyards [Sliven, Slavyantsi, Sungulare, Katlovo]. Small amounts of regional wine are made here. The Sub-Balkan Region is divided to two parts: the Eastern Sub-Balkan Sub-Region [Sungurlare Misket – light, white wine for quick consumption] and the Western Sub-Balkan Sub-Region [also known as the Rose Valley]. Here the simple white Misket and Muscat, and the red Kadarki and Cabernet Sauvignon are made.
