BULGARIA TRIES TO ATTRACT MIDDLE EASTERN TOURISTS DURING EXPO IN DUBAI
Bulgaria will take part in the international tourism expo Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2007 starting on May 1 in Dubai.
Bulgarian State Agency for Tourism (SAT) organised the country's participation in the event. Bulgaria takes part in ATM for the third consecutive time, Focus news agency reported.
The expo will provide 25 sq m presentation area to Bulgarian participants. Bulgarian tourism companies will promote the country as attractive tourism destination.
SAT’s programe for the event envisions advertising Bulgaria directly and through ATM’s daily magazine.
ATM is internationally acknowledged as the the largest and most significant tourism exhibition in the Middle East. Expo participants include mainly tour operators, tourism agencies and hotel chains.
UK company Reed Exhibitions organises the expo. Over 1 600 participants from 60 countries took part in the event in 2006. The number of visitors exceeded 21 000 from 100 countries.
Nearly 13 351 tourists from Middle Eastern countries visited Bulgaria in 2006 which is a decrease of 3.73 per cent compared to figures for the previous year.
