Bulgaria Better Than Greece

Holidays in Bulgaria become fashionable again. It is the fastest developing country in the world. Bulgaria is trendy again – says Magda Plutecka-Dydoń from the Neckermann Travel Agency, which has observed a three times larger sale of trips to Bulgaria.

According to statistics, a general number of 113 000 Poles visited Bulgaria in 2005. They choose Bulgaria because it is more attractive than all Mediterranean countries. The weather is the same, the water is however less salty and does not irritate the eyes that much. The beaches are sandy and sandy only, they are wide and slightly sloping. The place is perfect for families with children. Dolphins swimming in the sea are also an attraction there. You can also go hiking – the mountains there are really beautiful. Bulgaria has changed and it does not bring associations with the past times anymore – says Jordan Draganchex, the founding father of the Polish – Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce. Many luxurious hotels have been built over the last few years; the old ones were repaired and their standard was raised. Companies specializing in cleaning the beaches and renting the folding chairs and umbrellas are already there. All historical monuments were renovated and bilingual information boards were financed. Bulgaria has cheap shops and taverns. A beer costs about 1.5 PLN, a can of Coca Cola – about 50 – 70 gr., a nice dinner in a restaurant – about 10 PLN. The alcohol is also cheap – a half-a-liter of rakiya costs 10 PLN, and a bottle of local wine called Mleko Osla or Melnik [which is much better than Sophia] costs about 5-6 PLN. You have to pay about 20-30 PLN for renting an apartment in all seaside resorts and towns, right at the sea – it is impossible in the neighboring Turkey or Greece – the best locations have been reserved by hotel owners a long time ago. Despite the fact that Bulgaria is not a member of the EU yet, eight low cost airlines have their departments there and organize regular flights. Not from Poland though, unfortunately. A round LOT ticket to Sofia costs about 1000 PLN.
