SPELUNKING
It is a paradise for all spelunkers. There are over 2000 caves in Bulgaria; you may find cave paintings [3000 BC] in some of them. There are special trips organized on the spot.
PARACHUTING
Parachuting is best in the area of Stara Planina – the conditions there are just perfect. Flies over the mountains are an unforgettable experience.
KAYAKS AND CANOEING
The best conditions are in the Rhodope and Pirin Mountains [apart from the coast]. Canyon rallies are especially thrilling.
THE BULGARIAN COUNTRYSIDE
Folklore and parties – to be in Bulgaria and not see the countryside is just like to be in Rome and not see the Pope. A Bulgarian evening in a Bulgarian village means folk dancing and signing performance of a large folk artistic group. The performances end in a joint Balkan dance called ‘horo’ – the tourists and locals go to a bonfire where a ‘Nestinar’ dances barefoot on burning coal.
